This was a very special trip. It had been 6 months since we last came. In November due to the Hurricane Noel, we couldn't reach Juan Santiago, & we were in Colombia from Nov 11 through Jan 28, 2008. We missed our people, and so did they. The arrival was special, many folks came and embraced us.

See fotos here.

February 2008 Miami, Fl.
,
we were invited to speak at one of biggest churches in Miami. We thank God for this blessing. In all three services people were deeply touched. We extended an invitation to our project in March and after the service the pastor of the Church told us he's going along with 2 more of his pastors and will be my trip also to accompany them. This to us is such wonderful news.

Febrero 2008.

November 07 through January 28, 2008 - Colombia, S. America.

Our missions trip to this country, our fourth, was very powerful and very special.
The children's program in Colombia is coming along. We took a brand new Dell computer that Robert and Mariel Diaz of Miami donated to these pastors. Alex and Stephanie donated teh childrens movies to draw the kids and therefore draw there parents to the church.

Colombia Noviembre 11, a Enero 28, 2008.

le pedimos que porfavor ayuden a este pastor. Hagan click abajo;

My wife and I love to cook for other people and in this ocasion
we made Cuban beans
and rice for the drug rehap center.

Another awesome testimony is the movie "Facing the Giants" We asked Stephanie (16 yrs old our volunteer) to donate movies with a message. Among the movies she picked this one. To be honest, I didn't even want to see it, but I did in Colombia and it made me cry, I felt from God to lend it to a local pastors wife, and she told me "I had been praying to have this movie" we began to show the movies with the borrowed laptop that I took, to many groups of people, including youth and 3 local churches and a drug rehap center. Below is the picture of the pastor and the wife I felt led to give it too.

November 08' Santo Domingo,
the Hurricane hits and we are unable to visit our project.

Viaje a Rep.

I've lived through many hurricane's in Miami, but to live this. To actually witness the fact that there is no 911, no ambulance, no helicopters. To see an 8 yr old holding on to a post and watch his parents and brothers die by the rushing waters and mud.

We are all heartbroken that we could not reach the town before our departure. I could not reach the country side - "Juan Santiago" where our project is because both bridges in Azua & Bani where destroyed. So these towns had no comunication with the capital, which is were everything comes from.

We arrived not knowing Hurricane Noel would meet us there. I am personally thankful we did travel while a hurricane hit. To live this experience here was an eye opener and ignited my passion once again to give up as much as I can to work much harder to be able to travel f/t & posibly stay months in these countries. I hope you consider helping us monthly.

Friends, to live this, to actually see that 90% of this country is poor and does not have the resources we have in the US, hit me hard. Bathrooms here are dug 15 feet underground, as waters rose to more the 6 feet, bacteria hit. Water is not available and the bridges that connect the capital - Santo Domingo, were destroyed by the rivers. Food, gasoline, water, could not reach the entire country because of this. over 25,000 homes were destroyed. Again, if you were to arrive by plane, you would notice the thousands of Tin Roofs even in the capital.

We were practically stuck in Santo Domingo and couldn't do much. Taxi service, transportation was not available.
